2300AD SSTO by Arcas-Art 2300AD SSTO by Arcas-Art
Wow, how's that for a cryptic title for the masses?! ;) This was a piece done for the 2300 AD RPG, illustrating a single-stage-to-orbit craft in a rather stylized form. If I were to do this one today I would not have made it a vertical lifter, but.... heh... it's still decent eye candy.

Ink and tone film.

Hi, I'm not sure if you're a member yet...
If you don't mind, I'm going to re-post your appeal for Bryan Gibson's family on the page too..

Wow, I remember this from way back in the day with Traveller 2300. I had no idea that this was your work! OMG you've had a fan for *decades*. lol

What's wrong with a vertical ascender? The Delta Clipper was one such thing.

Indeed.

So many replacements they could've been developing all these years, and when push comes to shove they want to take a step backwards to expendable rockets. :iconfacepalmplz:

Yeah, It is kinda sad that we seem to reset with every new administration. I'm hoping that the emphasis on commercial alternatives may help break that cycle. Time will tell.

Lovely, clean work. Awesome use of tone film, a tool that I have never understood correctly.

Well it's a rather archaic medium, now, but it's fun to revisit this older stuff :)

The German Udet class fighter craft, as depicted in a different pose by the esteemed Mr Peters on page 22 of Ships of the French Arm?
