The Enterprise bears down on the core of the Brayman Gravitic Anomaly after remote sensors reported a dramatic change in the object's graviton fluctuations.
One of my favorite views of the Enterprise from the original show were those closers where the ship would bank away from the viewer, almost as if to warp off into the.... er... "sunset". That's what inspired this piece.
