Description

I said I was done with reprinting game stuff for a while.... but this ain't :) This is more of a "historical curiosity" of my art evolution and predates my functional start in RPG production by about six years. For most of my teen years I worked in pencil. Translating those works to ink was a big step for me and this was one of my earlier inked works. I originally worked in a pointalism style, like artists such as Virgil Finlay.... though I HARDLY compare my work to masterful executions like his [link] !

Back in 1980 there wasn't a lot of speculation in print about Klingon ship design beyond the D-7/K'Tinga. For me THE speculative fan source was Geoff Mandel's work in his "Starfleet Handbook" fanzine tech series. That's where the Kurta design was drawn from.

The look of Klingon ships always appealed to me more than Federation ships did.  You can have the Constitution-class and Galaxy-class...I wanted to command a D-7!

I suppose I could settle for a K-5.... Wink/Razz
