This is an image of an Imperial Rampart Aerospace Fighter from the Traveller RPG universe. I tweaked the design in many areas - mostly the nose and wing pods - to try and give it a bit more sense of being a "fighter" than a 50's winged rocket. This image is actually set during the Rebellion period of civil war and this craft is operating under the flag of Empress Margaret.

This was publishing in... er... maybe the MegaTraveller Basic Set? So long ago.... it was a GDW product, I at least know that ;P Pen and Ink on illustration stock.

It sort of makes me thing of the F-104, engines weapons pilot and just enough metal to cover it all.

while it's not very big, or fancy i imagine if you had a swarm of these little fellas coming at you you'd be too busy dodging missiles and gunfire to be a critic.

Yeah, there's definitely a bit of F-104 goin' on with the design! :)

this thing gives new meaning to the IDF term "butt-rocket" (Israeli pilots get a little... eccentric) :)

Yeah, it really was just a one-man rocket. Not as "elegant" as other space opera fighter staples.

I think the F-104 might have been in the back of my brain... but more likely it was in the forefront of whoever designed the Rampart. I didn't really alter it's form too much, aside from the expanded nose area.

WOW, ok so how about the underwater vehicles of that era? Any thoughts you care to print or make in art form.

It's been a long time since I really got my hands dirty with Traveller design, but I think at TL15 the distinction between "submarine" and "spacecraft" could become as blurry as today's distinction between "cel phones" and "computers".
