I'm still having "Anderson on the Brain", pondering the legacy the man left behind. So here we have a lil' Space:1999 vignette with an Eagle bringing a crew out to repair a communications relay near Alpha.

Eagle by Grayworf-Starkiller. Buggy by...? Dystopia antenna by either Moebius, Ajax, or both? Rock by Aery Soul, lunar surface by FirstBastion (at DAZ). M4 space suit by Simon3D and recolored in Alpha's color scheme. DAZ Studio....

Always had a thing for this design... it made SENSE in the real world... Would love to see more images of this thing making use of it's different modular configurations - skeleton without the central cargo pod, skeleton removed with the cockpit and rear engines only, or cockpit as a life-buoy... Different cargo pods too.

Even makes sense from a maintenance point of view because of the interchangeable modules. Why are we trying to build the CEV and such? Launch one of these babies and you've got the whole mission in one convenient package. You could even use HLV's to launch the modules into orbit piece by piece, and simply dock them together in orbit and ... zoom... to the moon...

I agree, it's a great design and cool to look at even by current standards. But as an atmospheric vehicle.... well that's where the plausibility breaks down...

No.... an atmospheric vehicle could be mounted in the module carrying frame...

That would be one way to deal with it.

the Eagle is still one of the most impressive spaceships ever to appear on television !!!

I do tend to agree :)

There were plans for a movie on this too before Anderson's passing, ...tentatively titled "SPACE: 2099".
Gotta love "the machine most closet to being a reality" in all tv sci-fi.

Well even if 2099 had happened, Gerry's condition wouldn't have allowed him to be part of it. Still, he left us a great, inspiring legacy.

If you have to have a disease "Anderson on the brain" is certainly one of the better ones. ;) This is a wonderful vignette. It's a nice slice of daily routine life that is good to see. Actioners are always fun, but daily routine life can be interesting too, and this shows it. Beautiful work as always! :D

Thanks, bud. Yeah, I'm rather fond of the "slice of (SF) life" themes. Look for more from me in the future, I'm sure!
