The crew of the Archer class scout ship, U.S.S. Rama, drag their crippled ship across the arid wastes of a remote alien world to a location they believe may have the resources available for a fix. They've employed local creatures as beasts of burden and riding mounts for the trip, as well as jerry rigging a grav harness to "float" the ship using some exotic local minerals wrapped in fabric sacks and periodically recharged with energy from low power phaser pulses.
Whew! This is one of those images that I can't whip out in an afternoon or evening. I woke up Saturday morning with this image pretty fully formed in my mind and have been working on it the three days since. It may not be what some have come to expect as a "typical" Trek piece, but like many other's I've done, it's the flavor Trek I love to watch and read about. "The Final Frontier".
